FEATURED ARTIST POLL: SEPTEMBER

We finally have a new poll up for you to vote for the Featured Artist of September! Back in July, when we first opened back up, Usher took the throne as the featured artist. Now in July, Keri Hilson is still holding it down. September is right around the corner, though, so it's time to pick a new featured artist for R&B City! So we're asking you who it should be. Here are the 5 choices and why we think you should vote for them..

SOLANGE - She's definitely proven herself with her new album, which drops August 26. She recently released her second single, which was a follow-up to her first single, "I Decided", which did extremely well on the charts. She's proven to all of us that she's more than just Beyonce's little sister and is taking her own road, regardless of what the industry thinks.

NE-YO - He has a third album coming out really soon, and we just posted his second single video as well. He's on his grind promoting the new album and wrote the recent #1 single for Rihanna, "Take A Bow". He is also credited for songwriting Beyonce's "Irreplaceable", which also went #1! He's a true hitmaker; and now it's his turn.

RIHANNA - We can no longer underestimate this woman. She's proven to be more than just a Caribbean girl from Barbados. We all underestimated her when she came out with "Pon De Replay", but now, after 4 #1 singles and having "Disturbia" recently reach #1 right after "Take A Bow", she's definitely one of the hottest in the game!

MICHELLE WILLIAMS - She's back and she's better than ever! After her last two previous gospel albums' success, she's now bringing you something unexpected! We've posted a few tracks from her new album, and we can't lie-it's hot! Her single "We Break The Dawn" went #1 on the dance charts and she's definitely bringing it with this album, and proving she can do other things than just gospel.

JENNIFER HUDSON - We first saw her as a contestant on American Idol, and then on the hit movie Dreamgirls. Now she has a new self-titled album releasing soon, and her single "Spotlight" is doing excellent. She's showing the judges of AI, as well as the world, they shouldn't have let this dreamgirl go..

New Music Reviews ♪

Jagged Edge -"I Luv Your Girl"
Jagged Edge's version of "I Luv Your Girl", originally performed by The-Dream, is hot! That's all I can say about it. Just listen to it for yourself.. (Stream/Download)

Ne-Yo - "It's You"
This new song from Ne-Yo is called "It's You". I'm not sure if this will be on his third studio album, Year of the Gentleman, but it is definitely a good track. The beat is simple, which is nice, ince there's so many uptempo songs out now. The lyrics are okayoo. This is not some of his best work but it's far from being labeled as "garbage". (Stream/Download)

Michelle Williams - "Unexpected"
This joint is hot. The melody is simple but when the chorus comes in everything is turned up a notch. The production sounds like something Lil' Jon would do mixed with piano keys. This track will be on her R&B/Pop/Dance album, Unexpected. (Stream/Download)

Solange - "White Picket Dreams"
New music from Solange has leaked. The song is called "White Picket Dreams", and I actually like the song. The melody is nice; I'm not exactly sure what the lyrics or the title means but the song has a nice mellow vibe to it. Look out for Solange's sophomore album, Sol-AngeL & The Hadley Street Dreams when it drops August 26! (Stream/Download)

Ne-Yo - "Take A Bow" (Response)
Ne-Yo's version of "Take A Bow", originally sung by Rihanna, has hit the net. Ne-Yo actually originally wrote the song for Rihanna, and is also known for writing Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable". I would appreciate this song more if it was a "flip". All he did to the song was record it explaining his point of the story. I expect more from Ne-Yo. He should have sung about a new topic and changed the melody a little bit. Its pretty much the same song but from a different view of the situation. (Stream/Download)

Michelle Williams - "Lucky Girl"
Yet another song has leaked off of Michelle Williams's rumored pushed back album Unexpected, which is now set to drop in October due to lack of promotion. The song is called "Lucky Girl". I like the song. In the beginning the beat and melody is simple and relaxing. As the song continues to play, the beat flips and it turns into a uptempo song. The song is basically about her finding the love of her life and how she is 'lucky'. Michelle did her thing on this song & her vocals are on point. Make sure you check the song out! Celebrity Photo Week

Michelle Williams released new pics this week and it seems that she has forgotten her religion. Didn't she convert back to Christianity back in 04 or 05? She looks good in the pics nonetheless.

This past weekend celebs, such as Amerie, Ne-Y0, Brian Michael Cox and Chilli, were spotted at a party in ATL. Check out the pics! Amerie and Chilli don't seem to age.

R. Kelly - "Butterfly"
R. Kelly is back at it with a new track called "Butterfly". I'm not exactly sure if this is a left over song from one of his previous albums or if its a tracked leaked from his new one that's due out later this year, titled 12 Play: Fourth Quarter. The beat is definitely something R. Kelly would sing on. The lyrics aren't bad but the concept of the song is a little strange. Even though he explains his theory of how falling in love with a woman is compatible with a butterfly, I still find it strange. Overall the song isn't bad and i would recommend listening to it if your into the slow classic type R&B. (Stream/Download)

Lloyd - "Year Of The Lover"
Another Lloyd song has surfaced and its called "Year of the Lover". The beat sounds like one of Polow Da Don's productions but it's actually produced by Eric Hudson. The song is coming from his third studio album, due out August 5, titled Lesson in Love. I actually like everything about the song. The lyrics, melody, vocals, and production were all on point. He doesn't "over do" it. Its a nice laid back track. (Stream/Download)

Michelle Williams - "Hungover"
"Hungover" is a track from Destiny's Child member Michele Williams. It's on her new album Unexpected, which is set to release next month! The beat is hot but the lyrics can be a lot better. IMO i don't find this song catchy at all. The vocals she laid down in the chorus are very soft and it doesn't really blend well with the rest of the song IMO. (Stream/Download)

Michelle Williams has a new track out, called "The Greatest", and it's off her third solo album, Unexpected, which is set to hit stores August 12. I'm actually liking this song. Its more laid back than her lead single "We Break The Dawn", which is currently at Number 1 on Billboard's Dance Chart. Download

Ne-Yo has a new joint called "Not Perfect", and it will appear on his new album, Year Of The Gentlemen. I'm not really feeling the beat. The lyrics and melody are okay, but the beat IMO makes this song garbage. Download

Day 26 recorded tons of songs for their #1 debut, self-titled album, but there are some tracks that didn't make the cut. This track is called "Can't Be Me". When I first listened to the intro , it reminded me of Janet Jackson's Feedback. Download
